today i ASKED mother ang, "should i pierce my tongue?"

& she got a really BIIIG reaction. she didn't say anyting for a while, den later when i tot she wasn't gonna say anyting, she suddenly said very strictly, "u pierce ur tongue, see whether u dare to come home or not? if any of u pierce ur tongue, see whether u dare to come home or not."

whoa, man. actually i've been tinking abt a tongue piercing for a LONG time, after watching thirteen. it's so nice when u tok, dere's dis shiny ting glittering in ur mouth.


of course, i'd have to pierce after i graduate, bcos i dun tink i'd be joining any symphonic bands later. if i joined any bands, i can't pierce my tongue cos i'd have to do tongue-ing.

aside frm the coolness of the piercing, dere r more disadvantages to piercing it than not piercing it. bcos a tongue piercing is obviously not like a ear piercing, when u can juz close the hole when it's infected. the tongue piercing is like $40 lor, according to maxine ang.


eg:
1. wat if pierce a nerve in the tongue how?! den lose my sense of taste, or even worse, affect my brain???

2. the pain factor. maxine ang oso said her fren agnes pierced her tongue & she (agnes) said the piercing is not pain, but when eating food is uncomfortable (in other words, pain lah, DUH)

3. after piercing, wat if the hole is infected?!? wat if my whole mouth puff up like a balloon or someting??

4. oso, after piercing, i'd have to eat PORRIDGE for 1 week. can u imagine eating porridge, my least fav food other than mushrooms, for 1 whole week?!?! UGH!

5. the price. i m damn broke right now. any jobs?

6. wat if next time food can stuck in it how. so disgusting can.

7. after piercing, it would be difficult to tok bcos dere's an additional weight to my tongue & therefore i cannot move it as i wan.

8. my mother. as open minded as she is, i dun tink she will accept a tongue piercing, juz like dat mother in thirteen. scully she really throw me out of the house ah. *shudder*



EW. so many disadvantages, only 1 advantage. but really nice lor, if i take REALLY good care of it & bear the week of disgusting mushy porridge.



the subject came up bcos maxine ang asked me if i wanna pierce my tongue, & i said maybe, & she said go & pierce together, cos she wanna pierce her belly button. a belly piercing is not the same as the tongue, although it might be more expensive!!


maybe i should reconsider, yeah? to choose between a tongue piercing & a tattoo. somehow a tattoo seems less intimidating.
